Well, I tried to search the forum for the answer to my question, but you all must be updating (or something) because I keep getting XML errors instead of matching threads. So if I’m posting a question that’s already been asked (and I’m sure I am), then forgive me, but it’s out of my control!

Okay, so here’s the issue: I’ve put WordPress on a server. I made the *stupid* mistake of changing the WordPress URI in the options page. (Yes, I’m an idiot.) I’m searching in the database right now, trying to find *where* the URI is located in there so I can edit it to the right thing (and so I don’t have to reinstall WordPress again – it *is* a new installation, so if I have to, I will reinstall, but I’d rather not.)

The database table I’m looking in is “wp_options” and I’m seeing “option_id” and “blog_id” – and I *think* it should be in one of those, but I cannot find it for the life of me.

Would anyone know where I need to look? I did manage to Google and find a tutorial on this exact issue, but the instructions aren’t working for me, because *they* say I should see the URL and I need to “edit carefully”, but I’m not seeing a URL *anywhere*.

Also – I don’t know if this matters, but the WordPress installation is part of a ZenCart contribution – so it’s not a straight-up installation of WP (although, as far as I can tell, it’s just WordPress in a folder within the ZenCart installation and nothing more) – I don’t know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, I’d appreciate it!

  • The search is wacky and is being worked on.
    To change the uri:
    http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/
    Very straightforward.

Thanks samboll – but that’s the site I was talking about when I googled to find the answer. I go to the wp_options table, but there is *no* table that’s called “site_url” or “blogname”. Not a single one. There’s option_id and blog_id – but not a “site_url” to be found.

Any other ideas? I’ve already got an email out to the ZenCart dude, but honestly he’s probably going to tell me the same thing, because it’s a fairly straightforward filesystem for WordPress – I see no difference between the regular files and the ones for the ZenCart install.

    Is this a 2.1 install?

No. It uses an older version (2.0) – which I hope to upgrade after everything’s set.

It has to be, even in 2.1.
Under “option_name” column look for site_url (it’s row #1 in mine) and home (#40 in my install).

Edit. You have to click on the Browse button!

edit – never mind – moshu has it.

ohhh! *That* was it! Smack me in the head.

I went ahead and upgraded it to 2.1 as well – better safe than sorry.

    Thanks a bunch guys 🙂
