Does this plug in need to be able to write to server files? (Excluding the mysql server).

no, it doesn’t write files to your server…post your settings to the feed to post as screen shot so I can see what might be going on.

here is that feed working in the feed to post

Thanks Allen for beta version 2.68.

Works great on my primary site

    http://internetcrimefightersorg.com/netspeak-feeds/security-feeds/

However 2 of my other sites give me a “nothing is found” when i access the feeds. All feeds valid.

    http://drdonysreviews.com/category/netwpeak/internet-crime-fighters/

Diagnostics says “Great news: There were no errors due to feeds not connecting the external servers”

    http://drdonysreviews.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wprssmi_options9

Have search here and elsewhere but have not found a way to correct this problem

Cross-checked settings with the site that is working
    Thanks for your help

also, I’m getting nothing is found messages on various pages of your site, which suggests this is something to do with wordpress.

Hello, I tried the settings you set up. but I do NOT get the message saying the feeds have been updated… I’m not sure what’s going on.

We have our server locked so that changes can only be done from direct access. The website and it’s plugins can not write files. You say that this doesn’t matter, yet the plugin doesn’t work. Any hints?

Also, what version are you using? I seem to be missing the (strip HTML elements) option.

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

I always use the most updated version of the plugin…my plugin doesn’t write files to your server. If you have images set to come in as featured images, then wordpress probably puts those images on your server.

Awesome! I disabled the include images and html option and it worked. However I haven’t taken a look at it yet, it might be messed up if it doesn’t include html elements.

Is it possible to only disable image imports?

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

I don’t have an option to disable images as nobody has ever asked for this…if you choose to not use the feature image, no image is downloaded to your server…the images are only pointed to. Just choose to have an image but don’t choose the option for the featured image.

unfortunately I don’t seem to have an option to not use a featured image. The only thing I can do to make it work is chose NO for HTML, IMAGE and VIDEO options. Is it possible to break this up so that we can enable html… so I can have links enabled from the rss.

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

this is how you choose to not have a feature image, you choose excerpt

    (@aldajl)

That unfortunately doesn’t seem to work.

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

well, then there is something wrong with your feed or something since as I showed you earlier i had no problem getting that feed to work on any of my servers…I would start by checking if you can get that feed to work using the included wordpress RSS reader widget.

    Thread Starter aldajl

    (@aldajl)

Here’s the thing. If there are any images that need to be downloaded to the server, it will not work. Thus the feed to post fails (guessing here). So any images or any data that has to be downloaded/uploaded to the server, will not work and will fail. So even if I tell it not use an excerpt or feature image, if the plugin tries to download the images, it will not work.

On the other end, I could just have the images removed from the RSS feed. I’ll try that.
