Upgrade database feature looping after upgrade

Hello,

Just installed 2.1, and went back to my admin login, where I was prompted to upgrade the database, as it was out of date.

On the upgrade page, the link simply looped back to the out of date message, without actually upgrading the database. This is my fourth upgrade of wordpress install this month, but only the first time this has happened.

I found the problem though: a Firefox extension/add-on that I have called “redirect remover” was deleting all of the data in the URL after the “?”.

To fix this, I viewed the source of the page and pasted the full upgrade link into my URL address bar manually. The upgrade then proceeded okay.

(Another fix would have been to use the “open uncleaned link” feature of the Redirect Remover Firefox add-on, if that option is enabled).

I thought I’d share the fix as the problem was frustrating for about 10 minutes!
