Update to latest version

    Hi All,

    I’m currently using customizer 3.1.15, but, there is update available for it : 3.1.17.

    I’m currently using child theme, so, if i update theme to latest version, what will happen, will it default to the parent theme version 3.1.17 of customizr and all my child theme data will be lost?

    What needs to be done, if i’ve child theme and update is available for theme. Could anyone suggest any good practice for that.

    Hi @oxygen89, child themes are designed to avoid any update issues and it is a very good practice to use them. Using a child theme, in most of the cases, it is then safe to update your theme to the latest version
    There are some particular cases where problems can happen. When for example you have pasted large pieces of core code (from the parent) into custom files of the child theme.
