Hello again,

I can’t seem to figure out how to create a custom menu using categories. The custom menu functionality only seems to allow you to create custom menus from Pages.

I noticed you used categories for your demo site, such as here:
http://semicolon.kovshenin.com/category/writing/

WordPress hides certain menu items by default. When you’re in the Edit Menus tab, you can click on the tab in the upper-right corner marked “Screen Options” and there will be more options for menu items, including Categories. See WordPress Menu User Guide for more details.
