@chm76 – In short, yes.
Basically it will depend on what the thumbnail is a preview of … if it is of an image it will open the image in a Lightbox Effect. If the thumbnail is a preview for a gallery (from within an album) it will open the gallery display which in turn will provide images (thumbnails) that can be clicked to open the individual images.

Ok, thanks for your answer. I know a lot about computers but a few about how to build a website so another question will be : is it hard to make thumbnails point to a gallery or is it something included in the nextgen plugin ?
Thank you
@chm76 – We have a lot of documentation on how to use NextGEN Gallery here: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/help/
What you are describing would most likely be handled by using an Album which would include a Gallery displaying thumbnails that link to the images which are shown in a Lightbox effect.

Ok, I’ll take a look at the link. About what you said, I would say yes and no, yes because that could be album including several galleries but I don’t want any lightbox to display the images.
thank you
@chm76 – There is an option to turn off the Lightbox Effects in NextGEN Gallery.

well,
I created an album, a gallery and added the gallery to my album but there s nothing to see on my page 🙁
In fact, what I would like is people to arrive on that plugin page nextgen, to see my pics. The rest, texts that I can write, comments, I don’t want it. I just want a pics website

I think I need to install a theme first, right ?
@chm76 – From what I am reading you still need to insert the album into an appropriate post or page as the case may be for your site and preferences.

I did it all, it worked but I didn’t like the look of the page (all these links on the right side, the possibility to post comment) because I just want to show my work, nothing more.
@chm76 – That sounds like a theme related issue … you may need to look at other themes for general layouts that suit your tastes better.
Without a link to your site I cannot tell for certain but it reads like NextGEN Gallery itself is working perfectly fine, but the theme you are using is not working the way you would like it to.

In fact, I have tried this because previously, I was using Zenphoto but I had a problem with vertical pic : impossible to see it fully on a page, people had to scroll to see it.
So I’m still looking for something nice to present my work.

Well, about theme, I took “fifteen”. But I’m a little bit confuse with that theme stuff. What I need is to display my pics, with thumbnails, on a white background

That zenphoto was good for that, except the height problem
