special “post type” ???

    i am reopening my question http://wordpress.org/support/topic/100716?replies=2 with modification for this 2.0.x version:

    Is there ANY plugin, which use a different type of posts? Today, there are 2 types – static (page) and “post”.

    I need to make a third type with own “add page” and “browse pages” but with the same table structure (so saved to the same wp_posts table) and with generally the same fields in the “add page” as for posts (some other fields saved into meta and some hidden), and with the the own functions for showing such “posts”.

    Is there any such plugin? I need it for inspiration for making my own type, i need to keep post and pages and I need special version of that add page where i would hide the unnecessary fields and pre-prepare some meta fields.

    You might follow the 2.1 stuff (RC1 is out just recently) as I think the types are changing a bit.

    Hello, I’m having the same issue.

    I’m using wordpress 2.3 and I’d like to add new types. I’ve been searching on Internet for a relevant plugin but I haven’t found anything interesting. Could somebody tell me if he has been more successful?
