Define “subject line” (do you mean the post title?)

Okay, thanks. I am using the classic theme. Yes, I would like the titles of my posts to be listed in the sidebar. What options do I have? Monthly?

You mean all your posts? What if after a year you have 2500 posts?
Be a bit more precise, please. The latest posts (aka recent posts)? Plenty of plugins do that:

Actually you can do it a couple different way like the posts during the last few days or your last dozen posts. You can find a list of methods using the wp_get_archives function here.

The info on the page you linked to was much easier for me to understand than the plugins. However, I still cannot get it to what I want (and I have been trying and trying.)
When I use the code to list the last 10 posts the font is larger than the rest of the sidebar and there is a space between the heading and the list. It looks terrible.
Ugh!!
Any ideas?
