removing 'comments' permanently

    Also the sub menus don’t reveal often under their respective top menus – which is strange

    In the pages and posts menu, select “Quick edit” and uncheck “allow comments” on each page/post, then “update”.

    When creating new pages and posts, deselect “allow comments” option, which can be found below the page/post editor.

    You can also disable comments in: Settings – Discussion – Allow people to post comments on new articles
