changing the top margin on all pages

    Hi all,
    I’m new when it comes to working with wordpress, and CSS in general, so forgive me if these questions are really simple for most people but I just can’t seem to get my head around it.

    I’m having a play around at creating a site here;

    But I’m struggling to get the layout exactly as I want it.
    I’m using the theme ‘Analytical Lite’ which I really like but I need to make the pages start at a lower place, so that it does not cover so much of the background images. Also, is there any way so the default about or post page starts closed rather than open when you first go onto the site?

    I really someone can help. Theres a few other things I’m struggling with but those are the main issues.
