New Post Pushed Way Down Page

    Hello all, I’m sort of a noob at this stuff, so bear with me.

    My blog (www.gotstrengthblog.com) has been working fine. I just made my latest post in the same way that I always do. When I published it and checked it out it’s pushed way down the page. There’s just a bunch of white space above it.

    I tried deleting the post, but the white space still remained.

    I haven’t messed with anything in the code lately. This post doesn’t have anything unusual in it that I can think of, either.

    Any ideas would be appreciated!

    It looks fine right now…using IE7, 1024×768 screen res.

    Did you have a photo in the post or something?

    Nope, it was nothing but text. I had a little bolding and whatnot.

    I have IE 6, and another buddy I had look at it in 6 had the same problem. When he went home he checked it in IE7 and it looked fine.

    Anyone have any ideas about IE 6?

    Ah! Well, you have to upgrade your browser then.

    Your blog seems fine – I’ve also looked at it in Firefox and it’s good there, too. Also, you’re XHTML valid, so upgrade your browser and make the post again, it should come out just fine. 🙂

    Well, that’s all well and good. It’s just strange that I’ve never had the problem before and suddenly I do.

    I’d like to have it still be ok for those using IE6.

    Oh well, thanks for the ideas!

    That’s interesting. I just ok’ed the second comment today (the first one has been up since the post went up). That’s the only change to that post.

    I’m sure the comment is ok, spam-wise, it’s my mom. 😉 I’ll check to see what’s up with it.

    Also, search for “sidebar down” and you’ll find hundreds (if not thousands) of topics about the same.
    In your case the “content” goes down because it is a faulty, not-so-clever design… despite having the sidebar on the right, in the code the sidebar comes first. Very bad for search engines.

    I can see how the sidebar coming before the content being a search engine issue. Is that a Green Marinee problem or just something stupid I did?

    If you didn’t modify the theme… then it’s not your fault.

    Bah. Is it fixable, or is that just too major an undertaking to be worth the effort (just get a new theme)?

    Thanks for the tips, by the way. The problem was the italicized text being too long in post #48. It’s fixed now.
