• Hi,

The plugin works ok for me in the sidebar widget except when a feed has no items to display. Then I get the following error:

There is a problem with the feeds you entered. Go to our support page and we’ll help you diagnose the problem.

I have a single travel feed that auto-updates every few minutes. When there is an item to display (or up to 10) the widget works fine. Static or scroll.

When the feed updates and perhaps doesn’t have an item to display I receive the error above.

Is there a bug? or is there a way to edit the default error message so I can add my own text (perhaps to say – no reported incidents) etc.

    Thanks, Malcolm

it’s not a bug…what that message is saying is that the feed isn’t working….you get that message if a) the feed is invalid, or b) the server that is giving that feed isn’t providing it, or c) your server is blocking the feed, or any number of other possible reasons that feed isn’t working.

Hi Allen, thanks for the reply. So to answer my second part of my comment, is it possible to edit the default error message that is displayed?

As I mentioned the plugin and feed work fine when there are traffic incidents to report. When there are no incidents and therefore no feed items I’d prefer an error message that doesn’t contain a link to your website.

Am happy to make the changes myself, just would like some guidance on location of error text to edit.

    Thanks, Malcolm

go into the rss_multi_importer_widget.php file and change the message on line 275
