• Hi – is there some way I can remove the repetition of the page title in the page content? I have tried altering the content-page.php files but it doesn’t save each time I change it. The files are all writable so I am not sure why this keeps happening.

  • Can you provide a link to your site, so we can see where that’s happening and what theme you are using?

    Hi there – thanks for getting back to me. The link is http://www.writing.co.uk/blog

    You can do it by adding some CSS, either through a child theme, or a CSS plugin like JetPack or Custom CSS Manager (if the theme doesn’t have a Custom CSS option).

    .page .entry-title {
       display: none;
    }

    OK – many thanks.
    I have now installed jet pack – it gives me a css edit option and the page is blank (with the message between the /* and */) do I just copy and paste in:

    .page .entry-title {
    display: none;
    }

    or will I need more than that to indicate where it is etc.?

    OK – got it = used this:

    .excerpt-title, .entry-title {
    font-size: 2.625em;
    line-height: 1.143;
    }

    and changed it to:

    .excerpt-title, .entry-title {
    display: none
    }

    Thanks! Just one more question – if I want to make one of the pages an exception to this rule (the blog posts page) is there a piece of code I can add in to make that happen? – I need the titles to appear on the blog post page.

    Yes, just take .excerpt-title out of that rule so it looks like this::

    .entry-title {
       display: none;
    }

    The .excerpt-title is the class given to the title of the “excerpts” on the blog page.
