    Hi,
I hope I’ll get some help. My webpage isn’t working anymore and I dont know what I can do.

    The Problem:
When I open my webpage, there are just cryptic signs on the page (like this: S{QX=fcǧ:&>81_>AOW). There is no HTML code or anything else…

When I open the wordpress admin center, everything seams to be normal. I can edit all pages and all the content is still there.

The problem probably occured when I installed “s2member”, but I didn’t like it, so I deleted it afterwards. Now my webpage isn’t working 🙁

    What did I try:
I updated the wordpress version manually.
    I deactivated all plugins.
I used another browser, cleaned and the cache.

    Does anybody has an idea?

    Thanks a lot
    Thomas

  • Which cache did you clean? Those symbols are typical of a caching plugin error. If you’re using one, physically clear the cache.

The cache from the browser (google crome). But I also tryed internet explorer – the same.
Shall I clean something else? And where? In the browser?

    Thanks – Thomas

I believe he was asking if you are using a caching plugin such as W3 Total Cache, Quick Cache, etc. Do you have a url you can share?

No, I dont use such a tool. Do I need to use this?
I can’t share a url right now, because I’ve an local installation on my computer.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Hi,

the theme was the problem. I dont know why, but after I made a new installation of it, the problem has been resolved 🙂

So thanks for help – Thomas
