discount codes

Hi,
I’m using the discount code field, which works as it should applying the discount to paypal transactions.
However, I’ve offered my customers an alternative payment method and this is where I have a problem.
The confirmation email the customer receives in this instance shows the price without the discount code being applied to the total amount.
It does say in the email that the customer has used a discount code, but doesn’t subtract it from the total.
Is it possible to apply the discount to the total amount that is emailed to the customer?
