I am currently using BigCommerce with over 1000 products. We make about 500 sales a month and will be getting close to $1M in sales for 2014. We hate BigCommerce.

Often we have high-demand products that sell out very quickly, sometimes with as many as ten orders of the same product going through within a few seconds. This has caused BigC’s servers to crash and has caused oversells since inventory doesn’t update fast enough. Is Woocommerce robust enough to handle our volume of sales? We have a dedicated server already.

I’d love to find out answer on this too. But if you’re already using a dedicated server, it really shouldn’t be crashing… If you get the report using ‘P3 Profile’, it gives you load weight by plugin. Woocommerce comes three and about half of JETPACK. That could be a starting comparison for you. I’m not a woocommerce ninja, just throwing my finds in case it helps. 🙂

My sales are three times yours, with about ten times more products. WooCommerce is perfect. You’ll be just fine.

Our dedicated server is a 8 core system with 16GB of memory with a SATA hard drive – no raid. Handles about 200 pageviews per minute just fine.

For importing your existing products, I’d strongly recommend WooCommerce’s product import plugin they sell. It’ll save you a ton of time.

    Good luck.
