Hi,
It looks like there are a couple of spurious characters in front of the ASIN, try using the text editor and checking for extra chars (delete the ‘=16’ bit, then retype it manually).
Paul
Hello, thank you for the response.
I deleted and retyped it but it doesn’t appear to be working. I even tried putting the code in Notepad++ and checking for extra characters that way.
Hi,
Sorry, some other things you need to check are:
Is Live Data setting enabled on the Settings page?
You need to remove the arguments “&title=-&image=-” from the shortcode as they will override anything the plugin gets from Amazon.
So your shortcode is simply:
[amazon asin=1612629717&template=image]
Hope that helps,
Paul
It says no image available when I do that?
Thanks for all the help so far.
Hi,
Hmmm, its okay on my test using that shortcode must be something in the configuration:
1/ What is your default country/locale ?
2/ Have you got localisation enabled and what country are you in if not the default?
3/ Is the ‘Live Data’ settings enabled?
4/ On the post/page edit screen in the ‘Add Amazon Link’ box can you:
Put ‘1612629717’ in the ASIN field then hit the ‘Search’ button, do you get any results (with an image)?
Paul
Ah, enabling Live Data worked!
Just one last question. Are localized image link and localized thumbnail link the only ones that do full localization?
Hi,
The plugin should localise all the links created using shortcodes: [amazon ...].
Good luck with your site,
Paul
