Remove 'Add New' for certain roles

    I know there are quite a few code examples out there for this, but the articles are from like 2011, and the code isn’t working anymore.

    I have a role that is allowed to edit a custom post type, and the way WordPress is built, you can’t separate the Add New and Edit capabilities.

    So…I need to hide the “Add New” menu options for the role on the CPT.

    Is there anyway to do this without disrupting things for other roles?
