  • Hi there @felix007,

Hope you’re doing great today! 🙂

Could I ask if you’re receiving standard WP emails like registration and comment notifications?

Also, are you requiring payment and do you have auto-confirm set to “Yes” in the Accessibility Settings section?

In case it might help too, if you intend to send emails often, you might want to consider an SMTP solution, maybe using a plugin like this:
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/webriti-smtp-mail/

Looking forward to getting this sorted for you! 🙂

    Cheers,
    David

    Hello David,
thank you for a quick replay.

Yes i”m getting emails of registration of a new user and comments,
and the auto-confirm set to YES.
    Payment required set to NO.

still not getting the scheduling appointments emails.

tried to use the plugin you suggested but gmail is blocking this option with a message “We prevented the sign-in attempt in case this was a hijacker trying to access your account….”

    Thanks
    Felix

    Hi there Felix,

Thanks for those extra details. Could you let us know more about your hosting provider? Are you using Amazon services by any chance?

Just to check as well, are you testing by creating appointments through the front-end?

As for the gmail issue, the following contains some helpful information and a possible solution:

Looking forward to assisting further here. 🙂

    Cheers,
    David

    Hi David
    the hosting is dreamhost.
    No Amazon.
yes, created appointments on the front date area.
and not receiving email as user and as admin..
installed appointments in second site with same results.

    Thank you for your support

Hey Felix, I work at DreamHost and wanted to be sure that you knew about a weird catch to our system. You can’t send emails from WP unless the to AND from address is the same as your domain. So if you’re trying to send emails from example.com to me@gmail.com, it’ll die. This was a spammer killer manuver.

If that’s your case, and I bet it is since you say ‘as user and as admin’, you’ll want to use an SMTP configuration plugin like http://wordpress.org/plugins/configure-smtp/ (yes, it’s old, but Scott is on the plugin review team and his code is awesome). Install it, activate it, don’t make any settings changes (yeah I know!) and try it. If that doesn’t work, then you may need to put in your DreamHost SMTP settings, but many times it just works.

I’ll be following this topic now so if I can help out, you betcha I will!

    Hi Ipstenu-DH
Thank you for your replay and support.
I have installed “Configure SMTP” (with no settings change). when i send a test email, i”m getting SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: fel***@gmail.com.
after configure the settings, mail address at gmail and password at gmail. i finally received the test mail AND the Appointments plugin working!!!.
    Thank you again Ipstenu-DH.
    and thank you David.

Hi @felix007, that’s awesome, glad you were able to get that sorted and thanks for reporting back that it’s all working for ya!

@ipstenu-dh, thanks for stepping in to assist as well! That is totally amazing support! 🙂

    Cheers,
    David
