First of all, this is a great plugin, so I hope I can get it to work. However, I think I need some help.

I edited phpBB and WordPress by putting making get_userdata and make_clickable pluggable. Then I uploaded the plugin files to wordpress’s plugin folder. I activated the plugin and filled in the required information. That’s where the trouble started, though. As the root directory of my phpbb installation is /forum/, I filled that in. I did the rest and hit ‘save.’ However, I got a red box saying: “Is the phpbb root path correct? /forum/” and a small, grey one at the top of my screen, saying the same thing. The red one went away, but the smaller, grey one is all over my site now. Also, the ‘save’ button that used to be on the wphpbb options page is gone. I must have done something wrong, I guess.

Hopefully one of you recognises this problem and can offer me some help. I’d be glad to hear from you.

    p.s. my site is at lamahange.nl (lamahange.nl/wordpress and lamahange.nl/wordpress)

  • I know absolutely nothing about this plugin but it looks like WP is looking for the forum at
    /wordpress/forum
    instead of
    /forum

You might be right, but I don’t think that is the case.

On the wphpbb options page it says:

phpBB Root Path*: [text box here]

Absolute path to phpBB root (example: /your/site/local/username/forums/)

Did you put in the absolute path? Cause to me it looks like you’ve entered a relative path.

Wow, I did not even think about that. I did put in the absolute path. That must be it. I’m going to go and check what happens when I enter ‘http://lamahange.nl/forum/’ right now. Thanks!

It was a hosting issue.. Nothing wrong with the plugin. I just needed to put “/customers/lamahange.nl/lamahange.nl/httpd.www/forum” Sorry to have bothered anyone (including myself :p).
