Control post order by date and category

    I have a site up and running using responsive theme with a child theme.

    I would like to control the posting order. For example post orders by date and/or by category.

    Lets say I make 10 posts in one day in one category. How can I get only these 10 posts (for that day), in the same category, to come up on the home page. Also consider there are 150 posts in this category already online

    Then 3 days later I make 12 posts in another category. There are already 50 posts in this category making the total of 63. How do I get ONLY the newest 12 post to show on the front or home page.

    The key is posting for the day. The I will usually be doing the posting for the day all in one category. But there is always the variables I am working with.

    I have looked for a plug-in but can’t find one.

    This should work: Copy the responsive home.php file to your child theme and modify it so that it gets the post_date of the most recent post and then queries for all posts on that date.
