The plugin used to load in the footer, but trying to get that to work across thousands of different WP sites proved a nightmare as so many themes have coding issues (either not using wp_head, wp_footer or wp_enqueue_script) or there are issues getting it to play nicely with other plugins. I changed it to load in the header which is the WP default and the support issues went down. I’ll see if I can add an ‘advanced’ option in a future version. I’ll take a look at 2 and 3 too, but the main issue is compatibility across thousands of WP installs- I estimate this plugin is used by ~10k sites so it’s a major consideration.
You’re right about the possible problems in point 1. For this reason I wrote that it could be added a checkbox in Cookie Law Info to enable/disable that option:
– Add Cookie Law Info javascript at footer (as default it could be unchecked and the javascript will be loaded at header)
Also the second point can have compatibility problems in some WP or plugins, but also it could be another checkbox option. So the user can choose to enable/disable.
