You have to put it ON first under “Miscellaneous”.
i do have the same problem. i put it “ON” under “Miscellaneous”, but the button still doesn’t appear. this problem exists in all beta versions (including the latest nightly).
is it a “problem” or a design change?
in my alpha nightly there is no upload from the advanced editing either, so i just figured they changed it
I’m also using the beta and I dó get the upload button. Did you also press the “update” button on the bottom/right?

I did set it “on” under “Miscellaneous” and even hit the update button when I was done. Still nothing.
In fact, I just went back and saw that the box was checked under “Miscellaneous” and hit update. Still nothing. So I went and unchecked the box, hit update, noticed that the “Upload” tab was gone, rechecked the box, hit update, noticed that the “Upload” tab was back. Still nothing under “Write”.
I don’t use this functionality very often (twice since I moved over to WordPress last month), but I really liked that about blakey. I could blog for a while, put in my picture, and keep going. If it’s a conscious design change decision, then I’ll get over it, adjust, and move on. I’m hoping that it’s an oversight, though.
Strange. I see it all the time 🙂 Nevertheless I don’t use it yet, I’m also still experimenting with WP and find this button rather useless. I mean, I can upload and make a thumbnail but end up with the large one in my posts… I see that WP is very powerfull, but you have to be deep into PHP to get all the things done you want (which in my case isn’t a lot).
Oh well, I’ll keep trying for a while…
I have no button for images either 1.2delta build…hate having to hand code everything…
but patience 🙂
