[Moderator note: Topic title de-capped. Please do not shout at us.]

Around Christmas time I wanted to log into my word press blog, however I could not find my log in details for the word press blog, my current web hoster and web designer was on holiday.

I came across his log in details for word press used that to log in and blog with at the time I thought this was my log in access so I changed the password. Little did I know this was the account for admin rights and to make changes to my website.

Shortly after this I found my word press blog log in details and was able to blog under my own name.

My web hoster and web designer have now moved into the area of apps and have recommend someone else who I have had numerous discussions with about updating my website and becoming my new website hoster, he now needs the log in details to my website.

My current web hoster has been trying to reset the password but is not receiving any emails and it looks like his email address was deleted from his account and replaced with my email.

This explains why I got an email a couple of days ago, informing me “Someone requested that the password be reset for the following account”

I thought both web hosters had got the password to make the changes I want to my website.

In closing the new web hoster triggered an alert which sent me an email asking me to change the password (so he can gain admin rights and make the changes I want) However every time I request a new password I get caught up in a loop.

What can I do to gain admin access again? If I have not made myself clear I can provide screen shots

Looking forward to hearing from you soon

    With kind regards

    Bluecat

    Hello esmi

Thank you for the prompt reply! No I have not tried setting up a new password. Are they any support posts that give advice about that as I do not how too.

    With kind regards

    Try reviewing Users_Add_New_Screen.

Why can’t you login with the old admin account?.

Then I can only suggest that you get someone who does know how to use Phpmyadmin (your hosts perhaps?) to review Resetting_Your_Password and change the password on the admin account for you. If necessary, you may want to consider hiring someone to carry out the work for you. I’m sorry but there’s absolutely nothing else we can do to help you here.
