• Hi everyone,

I just launched http://www.links.com which will be a directory in blog format (to encourage comments and suggstions) that will contain only high quality sites (the top ten) in each of twenty-four categories (more many be added). The objective is to have a directory that will allow users to quickly find the highest quality sites on the web. I would appreciate any comments regarding the site composition and layout.

I would also appreciate any tips or best practices concerning security and spam protection. Thanks for any advice.

    Regards,
    Rich

Also, why two “Subscribe” links? One at the top of the left side bar and another set at the bottom of the right sidebar. Redundant.

Personally, I would separate the Comments link from being right next to the category name…place it at the bottom of the post or on its own line or something, because at the first two or three glances, it looks as though it’s one of the categories in which you’ve placed the post.

I also notice that when I clicked the “Blogging” category and brought up that page, the the entire right sidebar move over into the content space of the page. Even if you don’t have any posts in that category, your right sidebar should stay put, anyway.

Thanks msadventures for your very helpful advice. I will look into modifying the blog layout per your suggestions as soon as I get some of the categories filled out. Thanks again.
