Hi, I just switched to the Child theme yesterday and I had a drop-down menu created on the parent theme. For some reason the drop-down does not show up now that I have it on the child theme. It used to work perfectly when I used the parent theme on its own.

    Thanks!

  • Did you create your own child theme or are you using the one that comes with the theme? I just tried this on my local test site and my menu with submenus are working. Also, did you create a custom menu? If not and you are just using the default pages that show up on the menu, this could be the issue.

I use the child theme that comes with the theme.
I created a custom menu, but it seems like only the default pages are showing up.

It sounds like something is being missed somewhere…the child theme will inherit the functionality and styles from the parent theme because the child theme is a blank theme until you add css or other code to it.

I know this may seem strange to ask, but did you assign the main menu (your custom made menu) to the Primary menu location?

Guess what 🙂 No, I did not assign the main menu to the Primary menu location, I did initially on the Parent theme, but not on the Child theme. Now the issue is fixed. Thank you so much for your help!

    Ah, good to hear! 🙂
