• Hi,

    I have had ongoing issues with http error when uploading media to my gallery. Every time I add a photo it freezes at the end and the red “http error” pops up. If I exit out of the media gallery and open it again, then image is there, however I am unable to edit it – it states the image data is not available and I need to upload it again.

    I have checked my file manager – and the images are being uploaded.

    The other issue (and I am unsure if it is related) is that when I add media to my posts/pages they are automatically inserted with a width and height of 1, and are therefore “invisible” I have been getting around this for posts and pages by using the text editor to delete the width and height. However, this is not a fix as it means I cannot have feature images or header/background images.

    Can anyone direct me in how to fix these issues? Is my hosting provider? (I use crazy domains)

    I have 3 wordpress sites, and the issue is the same on all of them.

    For this one in particular where I am trying to use a theme (Hemmingway) with a header image it is most problematic.
    I am using a brand new install of 3.9.1, and have no active plugins. I have reverted to the default theme (2014) and it did not help. Here is a link to my website on the 2014 theme, with no active plugins and demonstrating where an image has been inserted by is not visible. http://www.reactfitclub.com.au/home

    I am using a Macbook pro on OS X 10.6.8 on safari, and have also tried Firefox on the same computer which has the same issues. I have tried my PC at work and the same thing occurs. As I thought it may be related to my use of a Mac – I followed chewie.co.uk which has been suggested on the forums but it did not work. I tried both inserting this code into my .htaccess for the new download of wordpress for this site – it did not work so I have removed it.

    <IfModule mod_security.c>
    <Files async-upload.php>
    SecFilterEngine Off
    SecFilterScanPOST Off
    </Files>
    </IfModule>

    I have also tried disabling the flash image uploader by using the no-flash-uploader plugin (as suggested by Chewie), however it did not work either. I have now deactivated the plug in for the purposes of demonstrating the default theme with no plug ins.

    In the past for my other sites that have the same issue I have tried the suggested: – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. This did not work. I have not tried it on this particular site because it was already a fresh download.

    Are there any other suggestions out there? It is very frustrating!

    Thank you in advance.

    Anyone..?
    I had to put a holding page on the home page, so now please refer to this page:

    http://www.reactfitclub.com.au/about/

    For an example of where media has been inserted but it not visible.

    The home page has an image because I removed the automatically inserted width and height = 1 from the text editor.
