• Hi there

I a relatively new to wordpress and am at the point where I need to think about site structure. I would like my site to work like so..

    mysite.com (latest wordpress posts)
    mysite.com/portfolio
mysite.com/blog (wordpress catagories and entries per month)
    mysite.com/contactme

the best website that illustrates this is http://www.simplebits.com although not build using wordpress.

Is this possible? If so, any suggestions on how to go about it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • That is very good possible with WordPress. Use the write Page option to make the portfolio, latest wordpress posts, contact me and so on.

The impression I get is that I can either build a website and then put all the blog info in one folder or have wordpress at the root level and use it to build pages with the write page option.

What I can’t figure out is how to have blog information on two levels. All of my blog to live in mysite.com/blog but the latest posts a folder level down (root level) on the home page at mysite.com

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You want to make your blog as a full website don’t you? Well, you need to do some “hardcore coding” to make it 🙂

    Or

If you want make it simple. Just create index.php file on the root level and put rss aggregator to call your blog post in the wordpress folder. (It’s just a trick…)

Thank you both. I’ve had a quick look and creating a static front page looks like the way to go.

    Thanks again.
