Images vertically squished

As of late, my images suddenly appear vertically squished. I tried uploading new images the exact size I want them to appear yet they all squish to about 40 pixels high, regardless of the width, which stays what it should be.

The exceptions are the home page and images in the side widgets.

I’ve cleared the cache and cookies…no change.
