Problem Displaying Uploaded Photos

    Since the upgrade to 3.9 the uploading of photos has gone strange. Uploaded files do not show a photo in the Library display page just a page indicator.

    When the file is embedded into a post the photo does not show instead a hot link shows which opens the photo on another page.

    This kind of negates the whole idea of embedding a photo in a post.

    Anyone else having this problem or have any ideas?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Well, thanks to a power company induced server failure I cannot say which move corrected this problem.

    After doing a rebuild on the new hard drive everything seems to be working just fine. As I had to rebuild from scratch and backups I have no idea what the original problem was.

    Never the less I am going to mark this one as resolved.
