• I have recently upgraded from Weaver 2010 to Weaver II. It did not go well – I lost the use of the footer widget areas and none of the slideshow plugins work. Even new ones installed. Weaver forum was useful for upgrading, but useless to correct resulting anomalies.

I am considering switching to a new theme. What would be a good choice after Weaver? When I switch to a new theme, will all my content still be there? And my custom menus? The media gallery? Plugins? I am naturally scared – if it’s only a matter of appearances, I can handle that.

    Comments please.

  • When you switch themes, your posts, plugins, and media galleries will remain exactly as you set them. Your custom menus and your custom widget settings will still exist, but you may have to re-assign them to their proper locations.

As for what theme to switch to, it’s hard to say. Your best bet is to use the tag filter and see if anything jumps out at you.

Thanks. I’ll start looking for a new theme and start fresh.

Well, I guess I have the worst luck…looking for a new theme, I selected one and clicked “preview” –

interesting, all my slide shows showed up BUT

When I returned to Weaver II, ALL the widgets were gone. Not placed in the inactive section. G _O _N _ E. I had to recontruct the whole sidebar which took several hours.

So – when I install a new theme, everything has to be saved first.
