    Hello –

A couple days ago I found out about the Membership plugin and decided to give it a try. I downloaded the free version from the WordPress repository.

When I first set it up I created 2 levels – a ‘free’ membership and a ‘silver’ membership. I noticed that both of these levels were available on the ‘register’ page.

Afterwards, I realized that I just wanted to start with a free membership, so I wanted to get rid of that ‘silver’ membership level. I went in to both the Access Levels and Subscription Plans tabs and DELETED the silver membership level.

To my confusion, I noticed the ‘silver’ membership option still appearing on the ‘register’ page. I tried clearing my browser cache – trying different browsers, even a different computer – still got that silver level.

I double checked the MySQL database, and the option was not there either.

I thought I would try the membership wizard again. I thought if I recreated my membership levels with just one level it might override my previous settings. It didn’t. It just added another FREE membership level to the one I already had.

I was also now getting error messages on the signup page – after I would click ‘signup’ – the next page would have errors.

My next step was to try to completely delete everything and start from scratch. I uninstalled the plugin and deleted all the files from the plugins folder. I ALSO went in to the MySQL database and deleted all the tables associated with the plugin. At least I thought I did. They were all the tables that started with ‘wp_m_’.

When I tried to reinstall the plugin and set up some membership levels, I noticed that the levels I tried to set up never registered. I went back in to the MySQL database and noticed that none of the tables had been installed.

I’m sorry I don’t have a url to reference. I’ve had to deactivate the plugin because it’s causing problems with my site – locking out all my pages and such.

What would you suggest I do first?

    Thanks

    Hi @pederweb,

Greetings and thanks for posting here! 🙂

Sorry if you had trouble with that. Could you please try also going into the options table (normally wp_options) and remove anything with a key containing ‘membership’ or starting with ‘M_’?

I believe there are at least 3 such options currently.

That should remove the last of the settings that Membership looks for and all should work as new from there.

Could you let me know how that works for you?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi there @pederweb,

    Thanks!
