    Using 3.8.1
The error log shows large numbers of messages of form:

[Fri May 02 10:28:53 2014] [error] [client 94.195.145.166] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting ‘]’ in …wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php on line 1396, referer: http://www.henleyprobate.org.uk/wp-admin/

No idea what called this module and I am not aware of any consequences.
    Is this a known problem?
If so what is the correction?
    Is it fixed in 3.9?

  • There is no such bug in either WordPress 3.8.1, 3.8.2 or 3.9.

Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked (if it hasn’t been already)? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.

I have not upgraded because I am using Advanced Custom Fields plugin which is not guaranteed to work with 3.9
So, should I debug ajax-actions.php or ftp another cpy of the module?

    All sorted.
File ajax-actions.php was corrupt. Probably due to an unreported or not noticed communications error using ftp to upload WordPress files.
This is necessary because automatic update does not work on my server.
