    Hi,
first of all I want to thank you for this great plugin and making it available for free – really great work and I highly appreciate it!

I recently installed SlimStat (Version 3.6.1) and my page load times rose up from <2 seconds to >10 seconds
Of course I do not want my users to have a performance like this so I am asking myself what could cause this issue?

as I said, i installed SlimStat the first time so my DB is of initial size
I tried both, JavaScript and Server Side tracking – both have the same issue

could it be an resource issue on my server – I am on a shared environment
however a decrease of page load time by a factor of >5 still seems very odd to me

    any ideas on this?

    kind regards,
    gerhard

    Hi Gerhard,

how many records do you have in your wp_slim_stats table? Version 3.6+ uses a few indexes to improve performance, but that shouldn’t affect the speed of your site so badly. You could manually drop the foreign key / index constraints and see if that helps.

    Hi camu,
    thanks for your quick response
as I said, I just installed it so I wouldn’t expect DB/table/index size or number of rows to be related to this issue
SlimStat was running for only about 30 minutes
for the moment I have disabled it until this issue is resolved so i cannot give you a particular record-number

However, if its necessary to find the root-issue i could reactive it again

It’s weird that the issue happens also when Javascript mode is enabled. On our main site, http://slimstat.getused.to.it , we have SlimStat enabled of course, with about 700k pageviews in our table. And as you can see, the page speed is quite decent.

any ideas what else might cause this issue?

are there any known issues together with other plugins?
Maybe it interferes with e.g. Google Analytics, Google WebMaster Tools, etc.

is there any way i can help you to track down the issue?

    The same is for me.
Loading time for my site is about 10 secods with slimstat aktivated and less than 3 with deactivated slimstat

Alright, so now I know I am not alone. BTW, toggling between javascript and serverside didn’t make much different.

Again, I still love this plugin, but I just have to give it up for now until it works again.

I disabled CDN and UAN (Settings -> Advanced tab) and my site site response is fast again.

    (@coolmann)

Can you guys try and do the same as nybello and report back?

    melonos

    (@melonos)

Seems, that its getting a bit faster than before.

I’ll keep an eye on it in the next days and will report

Oh great. We are looking into the issue on our end. Sorry for the inconvenience guys.

    (@gbrueckl)

UAN seems to cause the issue for me
    CDN has like no impact

disabled UAN and my responsetimes are normal again!

thanks guys for your great and fast support on this!
