  • I had this problem too when building a website.
In Firefox and all other browsers the text was the right size and respondng to my stylesheets but in I.E. the text was huge and ignored my stylesheet settings.

I resolved this by doing two things:
    1) Check your I.E acessability options.
Found under: Tools > Internet Options > Acessability Buttion at the bottom. Make sure you have ignore font size settings disabled.

    2) Hold the control (ctrl) button on your keyboard and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom out of the page. The text should get smaller / bigger depending which way you scroll. Once its at the right size go to:

View > Text Size > and make sure it is set to medium. Now when you set the font size to bigger or smaller it should work as expected.

The text looked biger to me because I had accidemtally zoomed in on a page one ‘notch’ and not realiseed, most likely when I was copying or pasting something and holding the control key.

    Hope that helps. 🙂
