    Hello!

I love your plugin, it helps a lot with high number of images and to parse properly the metadata.

I recently came across a problem with a new theme I bought and that I really like.
This theme uses Gallery Metabox plugin and this seems to actually breaking MLA.

What happens is that when I do the “Add Media” MLA doesn’t show me any pictures and the loading icon stays there.

Do you think you can have a look?

    Thanks a lot!
    G.

Thanks for your kind words and the positive feedback on the MLA metadata mapping functions.

I downloaded and activated “Gallery Metabox” version 1.5, by Bill Erickson. I ran several tests and as far as I can tell everything is working properly. For example, when I go to the Posts/Edit Post submenu and click on the “Add Media” button above the editor area I see the Media Manager Modal Window with the MLA enhancements and the image thumbnails load in the middle of the window as expected. Filtering the display by media type, date and taxonomy are all working.

The Gallery Images meta box seems to be working as well.

There may be some interaction with your new theme or another plugin on your site. If you can narrow the problem down or give me specific steps to reproduce it I can be more helpful.

I will leave this topic unresolved until I hear back from you.

Thanks very much for your prompt answer David, your plugin is very important for me and I really do appreciate your support.

When I disable Gallery Metabox from the plugins MLA works as expected, even with this new theme.

When Gallery Metabox is on, instead, MLA hangs on loading the thumbs that never show up.
To be noted that I do see all the enhancements to the window, so the plugin seems to be loaded fine, it just doesn’t load the images there.

Is there anything I can do to give you more information to debug that?

    Many thanks,
    G.

Thanks for your update with the additional information. The first thing I would look for is a JavaScript problem, although the JavaScript used by Gallery Metabox is pretty minimal. Do you know how to use your browser debug tools (Firebug or IE Developer Tools)? If so you can check for JavaScript errors and look at the HTTP request and response data when the Media Manager Modal Window is launched. If not, the best way to proceed would be for me to have a look. I would need a temporary account on your site to do that, which I understand may not be possible. If you want me to investigate further you can send my login information through our web site:

Let me know how you would like to proceed, and thanks for your understanding.

    Hi David,

First of all thanks again for your support. This kind of support is not very common and I’ll make a paypal donation to thank you for that.

I am not sure why is this, but I cleared the plugin folder (renamed) made a new one, reinstalled the plugins and everything is now working.
So for now I think everything is fine 🙂

Many thanks again, you can set this ticket as resolved.

Thank you for this update and for the good news regarding the resolution of your issue. I can’t tell you why it worked, but it is not an uncommon fix for this type of odd behavior.

Thank you as well for your donation, which is a great incentive to keep improving the plugin and supporting MLA users!

I am marking this issue resolved, but please let me know if you have any other questions or problems.
