• Hello.
Again, I have a question on my website in progress http://www.geluksreis.nl.
Viewing the site on my iPad/iPhone or other tablets, the navigation bar is not shown ‘correctly’, I fear.

On my iPad, the possible choices in the navigation bar cannot be seen, other than first clicking on the rightsided icon with the three horizontal bars.
    1) Is this the normal, only possible way to navigate the website when using an iPad (or any other tablet?)?
    2) If I choose one of the navigation options which contain deeper, additional options, I cannot choose the ‘top’-choice?

I hope my questions are clear??
Maybe it’s wise to illustrate it with this screenshot: https://www.flickr.com/photos/happyjos/13977997452/
In this screenshot example, I cannot choose i.e. the ‘Over Galuksreis’-option.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Jos

    Hello Jos,

    1) Yes that is normal as its how Bootstrap is designed.

    2) You should be able to select the top level menu for both desktop and on mobile devices – if its not working on the mobile device then that is definitely a bug that will need addressing.

Please confirm on 2 and I’ll dig in to the code to see what the cause is and push out an update with a fix in place as soon as I can.

    Hello Zulf,
    Thanks for your reply!

    1) I didn’t know that. So that’s something i’ll have to learn to live with… 🙂
    2) On the mobile device the top level menu isn’t working in those cases where there are lower level choices. So – in my screenprint – the ‘Contact’ en ‘Werken bij’ are working okay. Thus I can indeed see the Contact page for example.
But in the other three cases, I really cannot open the top level menu. The ‘lower’ pages are working okay.

Thanks for your help in advance!

But in the other three cases, I really cannot open the top level menu.

Again and unfortunately that is how Bootstrap works – the menu are set to “on hover” and “on click” which mobile devices to not have. I’ll take a look around the community to see if there’s a solution out there and if so I’ll be sure to implement it as soon as I can.

    Sorry for the delay.

    No problem at all, Zulf!
You cannot do more than your utmost 🙂
If there should be a solution, that would be great!
If not, then we have to accept how Bootstrap works.
I made some changes in the content of the Top Level Menu pages, so that visitors with mobile devices should not miss any important content on the website..
Thanks for your help and we will see what’s possible, or not.
    Regards!
    Jos
