I’m a total newbie to this as the developer who was supposed to help has gone awol. I installed WordPress using the one touch installation that my host has offered via Fantastico. I can see the files in the folder but when I try to use the http://mydomainname.com/wp-admin, I get an error message telling me that the page cannot be displayed. What am I not doing?

  • well mydomainname.com is an example … what is your actual domain?

Are you sure your files are installed in the root directory of your domain?

What do you get when you simply go to http://mydomainname.com/

I am having the same problem. Any ideas? Ive uploaded all the files, but running the domainnam/wp-admin gives a page cannet be displayed error. I am clueless..

    please help.

When i simply go to the domainname.co.za I get a “Directory Listing Denied” error.

Have you confirmed with your host that index.php is a valid default page?

I had DB problems with my host, and I they had to add index.php as a default MIME type.

Hi Guys, I worked this out. The problem was not with Fantastico but with my host. Thanks for the suggestions.
