@peterb12 – Have you tried all of the Lightbox Effects? Although not all will display the Alt&Title / Description details some will and you may be able to work from that.
– Cais.
Cais – I’ve gone through all of them, now. What I see is that NG picks up whatever is in the Description field of an image and that appears under each thumbnail in the Thumbnail gallery. If the description is longer than the width of the thumb, things get ugly.
I haven’t found a way to show the description under the expanded view, but not under the thumbs. That would be a very clean look.
@peterb12 Shutter effect is one of those effects that displays description only in the lightbox, not under the thumbs.
Check if you have setted the caption template, or post a link to the page with the problem.
tizz – thanks for your reply.
I’m using Shutter and I have gallery-caption.php set in the Basic Thumbnails settings.
There’s a screenshot of the thumbnail view here: http://www.peterbraune.com/cpr
@peterb12 You don’t have to choose gallery-caption template if you don’t want caption under the thumbnails. Select the empty one, i.e. leave that space blank.
Thank you, Tizz. Lots to learn here.
I’m a little lost here. I’m trying to turn the captions on in the thumbnail view, but can’t seem to figure it out. They’re there when you click to view the full size, but not under the thumbnails. Here’s one of my pages:

Is there a way I can turn that feature on? I tried selecting the gallery-caption.php template, but that didn’t seem to do anything. Is there a way?
Thanks!
kingtaco – you need the opposite of what I was trying to do. Where do you have your caption info written in the media file? Is it in “Description”?
PeterB12 – I tried adding it to all three fields: Alt text, description, and tag.
@kingtaco23 As for the Forum rules, and for a better help, you should start your own topic, as this is resolved and your question is different.
