header height and width

Hi,

I am trying to fix the width of my header so that it lines up with the container/content:

I’d also like to remove the giant white and orange space between the header and content (I’d like for the content/page to begin right underneath the photo)…

My other issue is I can’t seem to make the orange background show up around the header because it seems the header’s page width is set at 100% ; does anyone know where I can change the code for this?
