When you say “restore[d] to about two weeks ago,” what was restored? This sounds to me like a plugin conflict, so I’m wondering whether you have recently activated a new plugin, while the restoration did not put your active plugins back to those in use two weeks ago.
I host with WP Engine and am able to restore my site back to a previous condition, based on backups that have occurred on set intervals.
So when I say restore, what I did, was “revert” the site to what it was 2 weeks ago, when I was not having trouble.
However – strangely, the reverted version was still having trouble 🙁
So I am not sure. I did find a thread directly related to the issue I am having and will follow the instructions there.
Any resolution on this? I think I am having the same issue as you. I’ve submitted a pro support request, but no response a week later.
Ive linked an example of what my dashboard looks like here: example
Some functionality seems to be takem away with this bug, for instance I cant add or edit my custom fields under general options.
Thanks
Are you also on WP Engine?
Am not. Sorry to respond the same info on two threads. I’m on a host gator linux server.
No problem about responding on two threads. It might help others.
Either way, I think this issue is caused by your host, not s2. WP Engine does seem unique stuff on their servers, so it’s always a candidate for unexpected behavior.
