• Hello all,

I am new to the WordPress environment and am hoping to get a few tips and advice to things that I feel may be trivial. I was approached from a professor to design a webpage through WordPress for an engineering conference. The webpage will be hosted through the IEEE (society of electrical engineers) and we have the site name already:

    http://www.ieeespmb.org

The Theme that is setup for the page now is the IEEE Web Template – Conferences 1, created by D2 Creative. Since I am new to webdesign, my fundamental question lies with finding the directory files for the site. If you have a host, they should have these files available to you correct? But I do not know how to get them from IEEE.

Also, if you do not have access to these files, then manipulating the layout of the site is very difficult right? I have learned how to make pages, posts, and use the custom css manager plugin to change a few specific things on the page but I guess I just need some help and advice getting this thing up and running.

    Any input is much appreciated!

    Thank you,
    ~ Derek

  • Files can be located in wp-admin from Themes -> Editor and then selecting the right theme and template file.

@wordpress Bum..So you are saying, on my dashboard, select Themes under the appearances section and then there should be an option for Editor? I do not see that, it shows me the theme and says I can customize it but that is only changing the header, background, etc. I want to know where the actual files are located. Like the style.css for example.

    Thank you

Theme related files are placed in wp-content/themes
