syntax for omitting pages from being cached

I saw the particular area to omit pages but cannot find any documentation on the structure.
If my url is :
http://www.detroitsoundslikethis.com/events/promote/How would I write that? The full URL? Or just
/events/promote/A side note: This is an area where anonymous users are allowed to upload events via the Events Manager plugin. Lately, it’s been throwing an error and I read it may have to do with the page being cached.
Any insights there would be appreciated as well.
