The only way I can think of for this is a manual process involving going into the WP-admin user profile for the user and updating the point value listed there. This is similar to how we presently handle the “admin-only” achievements. There should be a text box with their present point total listed.
Points and badges can be 2 different things, but you may want to consider it in future updates. It could allow for much better progression.
Not quite sure what you’re suggesting in your latest reply. Could you please clarify?
Currently you can create a badge that is awarded when a member has earned a certain number of points. However, you can only award points via a badge. What I am suggesting is you also allow awarding points without awarding a badge. For example 5 points for every comment.
Lets say you want to award a badge for earning 100 points. And lets say you could award points for comments, making friends, creating a forum topic, etc. This will allow members to earn badges by mixing and matching activities. Currently you would need to set a fixed number of times each activity must be completed (10 comments, 10 friends, 10 forum topics), instead of allowing a mix (20 comments, 5 friends, 5 forum topics or 5 comments, 15 friends, 10 forum topics, etc).
Ahh, I think I see what you mean. Have an automated way to earn just the points, without the corresponding achievement/badge. Whereas right now the only way to do that is going to be tedious and manual the way I originally suggested.
Well, I can’t promise anything, but I can suggest it as an enhancement. You can follow along with any developments at the GitHub link below

Marking resolved as it’s a known enhancement request.
