I switched out the images with icon fonts.. seems to be a permissions issue on the folder. If you can navigate to plugins/ditty-news-ticker/assets/fontastic, set the permissions of the folder and contents to 755. That should fix the issue.
I am making an update right now that should fix this as well, but if you want o fix it sooner try setting the permissions.
I fixed it by installing 1.4.4 and will wait for the new version.
Thanks for your reply!
Sounds good. I just uploaded the new version so it should be available soon. Please let me know if the issue persists or not… I’m hoping that the file permissions I set before upload stick and don’t get changed upon install.
Hello,
The issue persists for me (though I’m seeing “h”s) even after I changed file and folder permissions on “plugins/ditty-news-ticker/assets/fontastic” to 755. For now I’ve hidden the navigation altogether.
Make sure you change the file permissions on the “…assets/fontastic/styles.css” file. I think that’s the main one that causes the issue.
I just installed 1.4.6 and it works again on my test-site. Other arrows are displayed, but there are arrows!
Now I installed 1.4.6 on my production site and there are still an “f” and a “g” for navigation. I’m disappointed… Persmissions are 755 for the folder and the file
Could you create a private ticket here http://metaphorcreations.ticksy.com/ with FTP access to your site so I can check it out? I would also need a link to your site to see it online as well.
I just updated to 1.4.8 and my arrows and all icons related to ditty seem to be missing. The backend has icons replaced by a little box with “E001” inside them. I tried setting everything in fontastic to 755 but still no love.
Do you need me to do the same as you instructed to klankentapper?
Yes, if the permissions do not work please create a private ticket at http://metaphorcreations.ticksy.com/
Also, you could try deleting and re-installing DItty News Ticker and see if that resolves your issue.
Ok, thanks MetaphorCreations. I tried uninstall/reinstall so I’ve created a ticket and given you FTP access. Thanks!
