Disconnections can be some different things.
Which BBB server are you using? your own or test-install?
If you use the front end demo page included in the demo.bigbluebutton.org or test-install.blindsidenetworks.com servers, do you have the same disconnection?
Also, are you on wireless?

I am using my own BBB Server (0.81)
We are also using a Moodle plugin which uses the same server and has no issues.
This also happens when using the Demo page on my server but NOT when using the demo.bigbluebutton.org page.
Also this happens whether I am on wireless or wireline.

It is odd. There is no way to configure duration in the wordpress plugin. In fact the parameter duration is sent to BBB as a constant value set to 0 when the meeting is created. Meaning that the meeting will last forever at least you have a different configuration in BigBlueButton.

This confirms what I said. The issue is not related to the plugin in any way. As a final test try using the test-install server, you shouldn’t see any problem there.
For fixing your BBB server you can ask for help in the bigbluebutton mailing lists, perhaps the one for developers https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/bigbluebutton-dev but you are going to be required to provide more technical details.
