    Hi,

    I have watched several videos, followed the upload instructions to the T and scoured the forums looking for a solution.

    I added S2Member pro into the correct folder through FTP, made sure it wasn’t double foldered and made sure there were no failed files.

    I tried this several times to be sure but the plugin is not upgrading to the pro version. I have no access to pro forms or any of the other pro options.

    Thanks in advance to anyone that can help

  • Have you tried uploading the plugin through the WordPress admin interface?

    Plugins > Add New > Upload > Choose File

    I have the same problem, driving me mad have you found a fix? or given up?

    Have you checked that the folder (and files within) have the right ownership and permissions?

    My free version of s2member works fine and yesterday, I purchased the pro version and it fails to upgrade on my wordpress.com site. I have followed their instructions but I think something is missing. All I can extract is pro-module.php I thought a work around would be to create a folder and name it s2member-pro then move the pro-module.php into it and then website explodes with error messages. The instructions are pretty clear about the directory being “wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro/pro-module.php”

    I’m not a great ftp person but I can fumble around with it. But to make sure… in my c-panel file manager, I am selecting my web root (public_html www) for the domain.

    @kelly541,

    It’s simpler than that. Find your s2member-pro.zip file. On your own computer, create a new folder with nothing else inside (perhaps call it s2 Stuff), and then put the zip file in it. Then extract the zip file, which should give you a folder called s2member-pro.

    Now, using an FTP program or your cPanel File Manager, upload the s2member-pro folder into the wp-content/plugins/ folder. (I prefer to use FTP because it will automatically set the right ownership and permissions, and so avoid the problem I mentioned earlier in this thread, but the cPanel File Manager should work too.)

    Now go to your plugins page inside your site, and you should see it mentioned there in the s2Member entry.

    @kelly541,

    Just noticed you said “wordpress.com” Are you sure you can use the Pro version on a wordpress.com site? I know they severely restrict what can be installed on wordpress.com sites.

    First of all I have to say that you rock! I had to deviate somewhat from what you said but I knew exactly where you were headed with your suggestion. In my c-panel, in file manager, using win8, I wasn’t able to select the extracted file “s2member-pro/pro-module.php” I was only allowed to click and select the .php file. So I did exactly what you said to do after uploading the still compressed file into my file manager and then once it was there… then I extracted it and poof… S2memberPro is up and running on my wordpress dashboard! Thanks so much!

    About the .com verses .org wordpress thing. I have read things in the forums about restrictions on the .com side, such as page limits, data capacity and so on and so I contacted my web hosting company and they said I am unlimited. As for the s2member free version and now the pro version working, I am told by the developers of s2member that it should work. Another words, if the free version works… so should the pro. We’ll see!

    Thank you and have a great day!

    My pleasure! Thanks for reporting back!

    FYI and I just thought of this… so I don’t throw someone off base by what I said above “that I’m not really limited in wordpress.com.

    To clarify, I have my own domain (its just that I use wordpress as the website builder) its not like what I think you were asking about… an actual wordpress.com site. Like http://www.mywebsite.wordpress.com. I hope I didn’t screw someone up!
