Just curious – I couldn’t find anything on this – can the regular “Image Upload” feature that’s found in the “Write Post” and “Write Page” areas be used to upload PDF’s, videos (like WMA and Flash) and MP3 files?

I would *think* that it could – but I just wanted to be sure before I told someone “yes”.

    🙂

  • A sure “yes” for mp3 and pdf – I tried those.

Yes, it can upload anything. It has special handlers for some things, like the thumbnail builder for image files and such.

There may be a size limit as to what it can handle though. I wouldn’t expect it to work with a large video file without tweaking your PHP configuration.

Now, I know this is resolved, but I had another quickie question regarding this. Otto – when you say a “size limit” – where would I go to find out what that would be (or if we even have one)? And would “tweaking” it be difficult? Just curious, in case they need to know.

The limit would be in the PHP.INI file. You can find out what it’s set to using the phpinfo() function. It can sometimes be overridden in the htaccess file.
