Cropped featured image how to

    Hi Everyone,

    I’m trying to get a cropped featured image for my homepage just like this:
    http://www.viralnova.com/

    Do I have to crop the image, then upload it and set it as the featured image? Any easier way to do this (eg have WP crop it for me?)

    It all depends on your theme. Some themes define image sizes for such things as featured images, featured thumbnails etc. As a basic rule of thumb, if you know your featured image is going to be displayed at say 400px x 300px, when you upload your image, ensure it matches that aspect ratio. So an image at 800px x 600px would be cropped by the theme and retain its aspect ratio.
