tmp directory has no permissions

    Hello, I am getting this message at plugin admin page:

    Site could not be exported!
    Please make sure that PHP temporary directory /tmp has read and write permissions.

    I have created /tmp directory at wordpress root and set permissions to 777 but it did not help. Maybe it should exist somewhere else?

    Hi

    Basically temp directory is not in your WordPress directory. It is global for your operating system.

    In your case temp directory is in the root of your file system which is /tmp and if you add necessary permissions to it, the plugin will be able to use it for temporary storage while exporting/importing the site.
